Buster and Oxfam say ‘turn your small change into big change’ for National Plughole Week
Challs International, manufacturer of plughole care brand Buster, has launched National Plughole Week 2010 (10th -17th July) in aid of Oxfam with its Bottle for Change fundraising campaign.
Participants will be given free bottles of specially branded mineral water and asked to fill the empty containers with 1p, 5p and 20p coins. A bottle filled with 1p coins (approx £4) is enough for Oxfam to provide life saving water filtration buckets for two families in the developing world where 5,000 children die each day because they don’t have clean water to drink.
The second element of the campaign includes striking neck collars which will be featured on Buster’s four plughole care products during June and July with the message ‘Together we’ll help’, and 5p on every bottle sold will be donated to Oxfam.
Last year Buster raised £10,500 for Oxfam through National Plughole Week and hopes to quadruple this figure in 2010, with additional fundraising support from new corporate partner Dyno-Rod, the drain and plumbing specialists.
Buster brand manager Louise Perry, says: “National Plughole Week is the main event in our marketing calendar and this year, with our partners help, it’s going to be even bigger and better than previous years. We are capturing the consumer’s interest with a creative and varied PR campaign and also underlining the socially responsible side of the brand by supporting such a worthwhile cause.”
PR for the campaign includes national consumer competitions in print and online media, a national schools competition, a consumer survey and the use of social media including blogs and Twitter.
